Contrary to popular belief, animal charities receive much more donations than human charities. When collecting donations it is all about the commercial. To attract money, organizations need a good marketing strategy. Simply put, for a person to donate money, he needs to feel connected to the cause he is investing in.

For example, in the United States alone, the food industry kills over 100 billion animals per year. Statistically speaking, the average meat eater is responsible for the death of about 307 cow, pig, chicken and fish. Sadly, these numbers are not as attractive as putting a picture of a sad rescue cat or dog. The sad pet picture will attract more money. Once again, it is all about the commercial.
